Painting Test

Our processes are followed by numerous painting tests, carried out on the finished products, which serve to guarantee the maximum quality of painting required by our customers. We have tools to perform:

Paint adhesion test by crosshatching and tearing

Test for the adhesion of thepainting film by means of a crosshatching process for the quality of laying of the paint. The test is a destructive control of the coating film which is carried out by making a series of parallel notches, intersecting them perpendicularly. The evaluation takes into account the quantity of fragments or pieces of squares that come off, starting from the carvings on the surface.

Paint thickness test using a thickness gauge

Test for the thickness of the laying of the paint through the use of tools for the inspection and measurement of the thickness on single layer or multilayer painting cycles. Via P.I.G. (Paint Inspection Gauge) we perform a destructive precision check. A small incision is made in the layer or layers of varnish, up to the support and the thickness of the dry film can be measured using a microscope equipped with nonius.

Paint gloss test with glossmeter

Test for the measurement of the visual brilliance of the paint installation using the Glossmeter. To establish the aspect and appearance of a surface with precision, it is also necessary to define the degree of gloss. With a multi-angle tool we can analyze all types of surfaces, from the most opaque to the most brilliant.

Painting test by spectrophotometer

Test for measuring color uniformity. Spectrophotometers or spectrum-colorimeters are tools used to define and evaluate color. Their use allows us to monitor the accuracy of the color when painting the products. Spectrophotometers are capable of measuring any type of sample for a wide range of materials, thus ensuring uniformity of colors from the product concept to the final realization.

Resistance to liquids – Immersion test

Immersion test of parts in distilled water by adjusting the temperature according to specific needs or requests. At the end of the test, the possible appearance of blistering and the adhesion of the coating are evaluated. Through this characterization the properties of organic coatings (paint products) are usually evaluated. The test can be performed on laminations or on production details.

Paint hardness test using pencils

Test to measure the surface hardness of the coating of the paint, or rather the degree of resistance to wear or scratches of the applied paint. The hardness test is carried out by observing the trace left by pencils of different hardness (H, HB, F, etc) made to slide on the surface to be tested – through a standard trolley – it goes back to the hardness of this surface.
